Wisconsin Powerball Players On A Roll

May 27, 2013 – “It looks like I’ll be writing some checks with lots of zeros,” said Wisconsin Lottery director Mike Edmonds.

That’s because four $1 million prizes have been won in Wisconsin in only three Powerball drawings!

The first two winners in Wisconsin’s streak were sold in Antigo and Milwaukee for the May 18 drawing. ¬†That drawing was for the record $590.5 million jackpot, which the Florida winner has yet to claim.

The third winning ticket was sold in Fremont, WI. for the May 22 drawing, and the fourth $1 million prize was won this past Saturday by a lucky player in Reedsburg.

Only the Milwaukee winner, Jason Peck, has claimed his $1 million prize.  Upon receiving his ceremonial check at a press conference, Peck proposed to his girlfriend.

The couple has no plans for the money yet, but said they’ll probably set some aside as a college fund for their daughter.

Three tickets from Florida, Louisiana, and Delaware split Saturday’s Powerball jackpot, an estimated $50 million.
