July 22, 2013 – This fall, ABC will examine life after an enormous lottery win in the new drama Lucky 7, which follows seven gas station employees after they win a life-changing jackpot they never expected – and desperately needed.
ABC’s new drama is set in Astoria, Queens, and features actors and actresses from such notable series as HBO’s The Wire, ABC’s Private Practice, and from the films Eden Lake, The Ruins, and The Joneses.
David Zabel, who wrote the wildly successful hospital-drama series ER, teams up with Detroit 1-8-7 writer Jason Richman to deliver what looks like a thrilling examination of the troubles that come with sums of money that should wipe out daily concerns.
ABC’s summary offers a glimpse of the trials facing each character. From debts to dangerous people to dreams of retirement, Lucky 7, produced in part by Steven Spielberg, seems set to address the less glamorous side of winning the kind of money most lottery players only dream about.
Visit ABC’s Lucky 7 webpage to view a trailer, read more about the cast (including Isiah Whitlock, Jr.), and even read an excerpt of the pilot script.
The series launch date is set for 10/9 P.M. Central Time on Tuesday, September 24.
