After a long wait, Powerball is finally headed to the great state of California. On April 8, 2013 residents of California can get it on the fun to play Powerball. Powerball is the multi-state lottery company that gives the biggest jackpots and the most chances to win!
So how will the new game effect the state? Powerball offers many ways for individuals to win, as well as the state. Most state lotteries are established to directly benefit the state. Proceeds from the California lottery go to the State of California Education system. By adding Powerball to the state lottery, California schools could receive up to as much as $50 million in annual revenue.
The California Lottery Commission voted unanimously in November to add Powerball to their game offerings. California is currently one of 8 states that does not offer Powerball lottery games, but that will all change on April 8.
California State Lottery has been licensed to offer Powerball games since September 2012, but had to wait to analyze logistics of implementing the games.
While there is no guarantee of winning the jackpot, the only way to know for sure is to play. So buy your new Powerball tickets and watch the drawings live on the Shoutz app.
