Jan. 14, 2014 – How’d you like to go the NFC Championship game in Seattle this Sunday… for free? Today, you’ve got your chance. The Washington Lottery has ten pairs of tickets to the game that will send either the Seattle Seahawks or the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl, and they’ll be giving those tickets away tonight.
From 4 to 7 p.m., the Lottery will be at their Scratch Bar in the Westfield Southcenter Mall. Players who purchase a $10 Monopoly scratch-off ticket will be entered into the drawing for the NFC Championship tickets and other great Seahawks prizes.
The drawing will be held at 7 p.m., and the ten top winners will receive, along with tickets to Sunday’s NFC Championship Game, parking vouchers and a $50 gift certificate to the Seahawks Pro Shop in the stadium.
The Lottery also has second and third prizes available for those who don’t score one of the ten sets of tickets in the drawing. The second prize is a pair of autographed receiver gloves and a $300 gift card to the Seahawks Pro Shop; the second prize includes just the $300 gift card for the Pro Shop.
Appearances by the Seahawks cheerleaders, the team’s mascot and the Blue Thunder marching band will help the Lottery pump up fans in the Southcenter Mall through the afternoon.
The Sea Gals will be on hand from 4 to 5:30 p.m, and Blitz, the ‘Hawks mascot, will join the Gals at 5 and stick around until the 7 p.m. drawing. The Blue Thunder will march into the party from 6 to 7.
While players can only win one prize in the drawing, they can enter as many times as they’d like with purchases of $10 Monopoly tickets, and each Monopoly ticket offers chances to win big instant prizes as well.
There are three $200,000 top prizes left in the $10 Monopoly game’s prize pool, along with hundreds of thousands of smaller instant cash prizes ranging from a $10 break-even prize to a $500 second prize.
Some of the lowest-priced tickets you can find for Sunday’s NFC Championship Game still cost more than $400 – imagine scoring a pair of tickets and free parking for just the cost of a $10 Monopoly ticket (or more).
Today’s your chance. Get to the Southcenter mall between 4 and 7 p.m. and remember: you can’t win if you don’t play.
Update: (Fans hoping to win a pair of tickets have already begun lining up outside Westfield Southcenter Mall, reports say the first hopefuls arrived as early as 5 a.m.)
