W. Va. Lottery’s Country Collect ‘n Win Starts Sunday

Jan. 9, 2014 – The West Virginia Lottery is giving its players a second chance on every Mega Millions ticket starting Sunday, and the special Collect ‘n Win promotion will run through mid-February, awarding thousands in cash prizes and tickets to see West Virginia native Brad Paisley in concert.

The Country Collect ‘n Win promotion is one of the ways the Lottery is celebrating its 28th anniversary with West Virginia players.  Any Mega Millions ticket purchased between Jan. 12 and Feb. 15 can be entered into the contest through the Country Collect ‘n Win website.

Players must first provide a bit of information so the Lottery can confirm that they are West Virginia residents of legal age to play.  Once that step is complete, enter the code found just above the barcode on any Mega Millions ticket for a chance to win.

To speed up the process even more, players can download the West Virginia Lottery’s mobile app for iOS or Android, which will allow them to scan ticket barcodes with their smartphone camera.  Links to the iTunes and Google Play stores can be found on the Country Collect ‘n Win website.

The entry period for the promotion begins this Sunday, Jan. 12, and the entry deadline for the first of four drawings is Saturday, Jan. 25.  The drawings will then be held weekly beginning Jan. 27 and ending Feb. 17.

Each week, one winner will be selected for the top prize – four tickets to see Brad Paisley in concert on March 1 in Charleston, W.Va., just south of the country star’s home town.  On top of tickets to what is sure to be an unforgettable show, each ticket package winner will also receive $2,800 in cash.

Along with the weekly top prize winner, the Lottery will also award two second prizes worth $800 and three third prizes worth $200 each week.

In the fourth and final drawing, the Lottery will choose a winner for a $28,000 grand prize.

Collect ‘n Win promotions are a new, fun style of second chance play.  Each ticket entered or scanned into the contest will randomly generate one of six symbols, which will fill up players’ digital game cards as they enter more tickets.

Players can have as many as four game cards, and a game card with all six symbols will count as an entry into the prize drawings.

If the same symbol appears four times before any of a player’s game cards is submitted as an entry, it won’t appear again until after one of the four game cards is entered and cleared.

All Mega Millions tickets are eligible for the Country Collect ‘n Win promotion, even winners!  For more details, visit the West Virginia Lottery’s website, and good luck.
