Sep 10, 13 Illinois Joins Breast Cancer Fight with Ticket for the Cure

Sept. 10, 2013 – A month ahead of National Breast Cancer Awareness month, the Illinois Lottery has once again joined the fight against breast cancer with its newest specialty ticket “Ticket for the Cure”.

The Carolyn Adams Ticket for the Cure is the newest in the Illinois Lottery’s line of fundraising scratch-off tickets.   Like the rest of the family of charitable scratch-offs, 100 percent of the proceeds from ticket sales will go towards breast cancer awareness, education, and research.

Carolyn Adams was an Illinois native and the Director of the Illinois Lottery from 2003 until 2007, when she lost her battle with breast cancer. You can read more about the What If Carolyn Y. Adams Foundation by clicking this image to visit their website.

The game itself is a numbers match game, and offers players 12 chances to win up to $20,000.  Matching any of “Your Numbers” to the “Winning Number” at the beginning of the row will win you the prize shown.

Uncovering a “Money Bag” symbol in the “Your Numbers” section automatically wins you the prize shown, and a “$$” symbol means you can collect double the prize amount shown.

As part of their effort to raise awareness for breast cancer, the Illinois Lottery is also featuring photos of “Ticket for the Cure” players in a social media campaign called #PaintILPink

You can submit your photo to be featured on the Illinois Lottery’s website in three simple steps.  Buy a “Ticket for the Cure” to support breast cancer research, snap a photo of you and your “Ticket for the Cure”, then upload it onto the PaintILPink webpage on the Lottery’s website.
