Oct. 24, 2013 – The two grand prize winners in South Dakota’s Take Me Out to the Ballgame second chance promotion have been announced after the South Dakota Lottery held the special drawing Wednesday afternoon.
The winners, Nate Harrington from Delmont and Mike and Kim Ellefson from Hartford, were announced on Facebook Thursday afternoon.
Harrington and a guest of his choice, along with the Ellefsons, will be travelling to the 2014 All-Star Game in Minneapolis, Minn.
The grand prize trip to All-Star Weekend includes roundtrip airfare to Minneapolis and hotel accommodations in the Twins’ city.
For All-Star weekend, the winners will receive two field-level passes to all the action – the All-Star Fanfest, the Home Run Derby, Taco Bell’s All-Star Sunday, and of course, the All-Star Game itself.
Overall, the trip and tickets are worth just about $10,000, and if either winner decides they’d like to drive to Minneapolis rather than fly, they’ll get the cost of airfare and ground transportation in cash – about $1,900.
And that’s on top of the MLB souvenir gift packs and $1,000 in spending cash the Lottery is sending these lucky baseball fans off with.
The MLB All-Star Game won’t be played until July, so these lucky winners will have to wait before heading out to baseball’s Midsummer Classic.
