If you believe in figuring out the odds, USA Today is helping you find the most common and least common numbers drawn in Powerball.
The Powerball jackpot is rising at rapid speed, and is causing a frenzy of people hoping to win the now $550 million jackpot. Most people are struggling to find the perfect numbers to ensure they will win. But how can you know what numbers to choose?
In an article published on May 16, USA Today reveled which numbers have been the most common since Jan 18, 2012. USA Today also took it a step further to give the least common numbers, just in case anyone wanted to avoid picking an unlucky ball.
According to USA Today, the most common white ball numbers in order of frequency include 23 with 19 draws, 56 with 18 draws, and 8 with 17 draws. White balls 3, 5, 7, and 26 have each been drawn 16 times. The most common red ball, or Power Ball, is 29, which has been drawn 10 times since January 2012.
If you want to avoid the least common balls, USA Today has you covered. The least common white balls are 2, 9, 21, 24, 25, 33, 37, 38, 42 and 47. The number 2 white ball was drawn the least, only coming up 4 times in over a year. The least common Power Balls are 9, 15, 19, and 31. Each of these numbers has only come up once.
