Second Florida Millionaire Claims Prize

May 21, 2013 – The second of Florida’s two $1 million Powerball prize winners, Steven Vaughan, claimed his prize today, leaving only the historic $590.5 million jackpot prize waiting for an owner.

Vaughan, a 41 year old resident of Seminole, FL., won the $1 million prize on a Quick Pick ticket he purchased at a Sunoco Gas station in Pinellas Park.

The Florida Lottery described Vaughan as “an avid Bill Murray fan” in a press release this morning, after Vaughan and a relative arrived to claim the prize dressed in Bill Murray “BFM” t-shirts from theChive.com.

Like the rest of us, the Florida Lottery is anxious to see who will claim the record jackpot ticket.

“Now that Florida’s two $1 million POWERBALL winners have claimed their prizes, the Florida Lottery is looking forward to awarding the jackpot prize; the largest, single-winning ticket in Lottery history,” said Secretary Cynthia O’Connell in the press release.
