May 23, 2013 – It only took an hour and a half for one South Carolina mother’s life to change after she bought a lucky $200,000 Jackpot ticket today and drove straight to the South Carolina Lottery claim center in Columbia.
The Hartsville woman, whose name was not released, told Lottery officials that she would use the $200,000 prize to put a down payment on a new home.
“I’m going to surprise the kids later,” she told the Lottery.
$200,000 Jackpot is a scratch-off game that costs $10 to play, and offered 10 top prizes of $200,000 when it was introduced. This is the ninth grand prize winner, leaving only one prize to be claimed.
The odds of winning the grand prize on $200,000 Jackpot are 1 in 600,000, while the odds of winning any of the prizes, starting from $10, are about one in three.
