Whether you run for yourself or a loved one, the Hoosier Lottery wants to help fight breast cancer with the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure.
Get your pink ribbons ready for the 2013 Race for the Cure with Susan G Komen and the Hoosier Lottery. The race will be in Indiana on Sept 7 in Wabash Valley, and again on Sept 28 in Evansville. The Hoosier Lottery will be at both events. The lottery will be giving away $1 Cash For Life tickets at both races, and getting their pink on to support the fight against breast cancer.
The Susan G Komen Foundation was founded in 1982 by Nancy Goodman Brinker after her sister lost her fight with breast cancer. Brinker believed that breast cancer patients need to be better educated about their cancer, its treatment options, and how to find a cure. Breast cancer accounts for 22.9% of all cancer cases worldwide. It is estimated that more than 232,340 new breast cancer cases will occur in the U.S. alone during 2013. Brinker has been working for over 30 years to find a cure for breast cancer. In that time, the Susan G Komen foundation has become the largest breast cancer organization in the United States. This year’s races in Indiana will help raise money and awareness for those hoping to find a cure for breast cancer.
The Hoosier Lottery sponsors events throughout the year. This gives the lottery a chance to interact with their players and promote their newest games, promotions, beneficiaries, and events. The Hoosier Lottery benefits retirement funds for public servants including firefighters, teachers, and police officers. Sponsored events help bring these beneficiaries more revenue while giving lottery fans more ways to play.
