The West Virginia Lottery is ready to enjoy the fun of summer at the St. Albans Riverfest on June 27.
St. Albans Riverfest is West Virginia tradition. Started over ten years ago, the festival has the theme of an old-town fair that used to be held throughout the state. It is an event for all ages and includes vendor booths, food, live music, contests, games, and more ways to enjoy all that is fun to do in the West Virginia summers. The tradition began whn the sternwheeler boats needed to go to St. Albans Roadside park for the summer so onlookers could enjoy and look at the magnificent boats. To go with the coming of the boats, the city set up a festival with vendors and concessions to provide revenue for the area. And soon a tradition was born on the riverbanks of St. Albans.
The 2013 Riverfest will include Riverfest Idol, the singing competition beginning June 22. Along with the Idol contest, there will be other local live bands that include Greg Sovine, Relative Obscurity, and more! There will also contests for kids including the Cutest Kid contest. Fun for adults includes river tours, local vendors, and more. The festivities will end with a frieworks display sure to light up the skies and eyes of everyone at Riverfest!
The West Virginia Lottery is a sponsor of the event, and will be providing more ways to play in the great state of West Virginia at the 2013 St. Albans Riverfest.
So come out and kick off summer by the river with the West Virginia Lottery.
