Oct. 25, 2013 – The New Mexico Lottery’s Roadrunner Cash jackpot reached record levels Thursday and kept rolling. Ahead of Friday night’s drawing the new record stands at $782,000.
Roadrunner Cash is a numbers draw game in which players must match five numbers to win the top prize. Tickets cost just $1, and the game offers smaller cash prizes worth $1, $5, or $200.
The overall odds on Roadrunner Cash, which is only available in New Mexico, are about 1 in 8, according to the New Mexico Lottery.
Thursday’s record-breaking prize bested a seven-year-old record set in Nov. 2006. That prize was worth $687,000.
According to a New Mexico Lottery press release Thursday, no jackpot has come within $100,000 of the 2006 record since.
Ticket sales for Roadrunner Cash end at 9:30 p.m., and the winning numbers are drawn Monday through Saturday at or about 9:45 p.m.
