Powerball winner pays $30K owed in child support

After Pedro Quezada won the $338 million Powerball jackpot, he felt like the luckiest man in the world. Last week, however, it was released that Quezada owed nearly $30,000 in child support for one of his five kids.

Quezada’s owed payments date back to 2009, and it was owed to the mother of three of his children. Quezada faced possible jail time if he accepted his Powerball reward before paying off his debts. Quezada has 5 children, whose ages range from 5 to 23.

After a family court hearing, the warrant was cleared and Quezada’s record was cleared. New JErsey officials have told Quezada his children can now come live with him.

Quezada expects to receive a lot of offers to invest his winnings in companies and other ventures, but as of now, Quezada’s plans to invest in his family.
