Feb. 27, 2014 – Nobody matched all six winning numbers in Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing, so the jackpot prize grew to an estimated $60 million ahead of Saturday’s drawing. This is the second rollover since a single ticket won last week’s $425 million Powerball jackpot.
The winning numbers drawn Wednesday night were 11, 12, 17, 38, 42 and the red Powerball was 2. Wednesday’s Power Play multiplier, which multiplies third or lower-tier prizes by the number drawn, was 2x.
No Powerball players became new millionaires Wednesday night; no tickets were sold that matched all white numbers drawn.
However, 24 players did manage to match five numbers – four white numbers and the red Powerball – to win the game’s third prize Wednesday night.
Just two of those players added the Power Play option to their tickets when they bought them, so those two players will receive $20,000 third prizes. The other 22 third-prize winners will receive Powerball’s normal, $10,000 third prize.
There were a total of almost 400,000 Powerball winners Wednesday night, together winning more than $2.5 million in prize money Wednesday night.
Just less than 70,000 players added Power Play to their tickets for Wednesday’s drawing and won a prize, but Powerball’s multiplier paid out nearly $750,000 across all of Wednesday’s Power Play winners.
Saturday night’s drawing will be held at 11 p.m. EST, and the estimated $60 million annuity jackpot carries with it a cash value of about $34 million.
Players can catch Saturday’s and every Powerball drawing live on their smartphones with the free LotteryHUB mobile app. iOS and Android users can even save their numbers into the app, and LotteryHUB will check them after the drawing.
If it looks like you’re a winner, we’ll send you an email to let you know. Good luck Saturday!
