Powerball Rolls Past $200 Million

Oct. 21, 2013 – Saturday night’s Powerball drawing did not produce any lucky jackpot winners, so the game’s top prize rolled over again, growing $30 million to sit at $216 million ahead of Wednesday’s drawing.

The numbers drawn Saturday night were 9, 33, 54, 56, 57 and the red Powerball was 5.

Though nobody was able to match all six numbers, there were five tickets sold matching all five white balls drawn.  Those second prize-winning tickets were sold in California, Florida, Illinois, Missouri, and Pennsylvania.

The Match 5 winner in California will receive a prize worth $541,955 because the California Lottery pays out prizes on a pari-mutuel basis.  The other four winning Match 5 tickets are each worth $1 million before taxes.

None of the Match 5 winners decided to add the PowerPlay option to their tickets Saturday, which would have doubled the $1 million second prize.

Three third-prize winners did add the PowerPlay option to their tickets, scoring $40,000 rather than the normal $10,000 prize.

In all, more than 850,000 players won Saturday night, collecting more than $11.3 million altogether.

You can catch every Powerball drawing live on your LotteryHUB smartphone app, free for Android, iOS, and Windows Phone.  Don’t forget to pick up your Powerball tickets before sales close Wednesday – you can’t win if you don’t play.
