Dec. 23, 2013 – Nobody was able to match all six numbers drawn in Saturday night’s Powerball drawing, so the jackpot rolled over for a third time. The prize sits at $74 million ahead of Wednesday night’s drawing.
The winning Powerball numbers drawn Saturday were 25, 36, 40, 45, 51 and the red Powerball was 8. Almost half a million players (468,763) were able to match a winning combination of those numbers. In all, more than $5 million in prize money was won Saturday night.
Two of those winners were lucky enough to match all five white balls drawn, meaning a new millionaire was made in Connecticut and Nebraska on Saturday, they did not choose the PowerPlay option for their ticket.
Seventeen players were able to match 4 white balls with the red Powerball, for a prize of $10,000. Out of those seveneen winners, two chose to add the PowerPlay option to their ticket, taking home $20,000 each.
Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing will be held at 10:59 p.m. EST. The $74 million carries with it a cash value of $41.3 million.
