Dec. 9, 2013 – Nobody was able to match all six numbers in Saturday night’s Powerball drawing, so the estimated $100 million jackpot grew to $122 million ahead of Wednesday night’s drawing.
The winning numbers drawn Saturday were 13, 20, 32, 45, 48 and the red Powerball was 17. Nearly 600,000 players were able to match one of the game’s nine winning combinations Saturday, collectively winning almost $9 million.
Five winners were lucky enough Saturday to match all five white balls drawn, making each of their Powerball tickets worth $1 million overnight.
Those five winning tickets were sold in Florida, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan and Texas. None of those players chose to add the PowerPlay option to their tickets, which for an extra $1 would have doubled their second-tier prizes.
There were three third-prize winners who decided to spend the extra $1 for PowerPlay this Saturday, and because they did, their tickets are worth $40,000. Another 30 players along with them matched four white balls and a red ball to win regular $10,000 third prizes.
Wednesday night’s drawing will be held at 11 p.m. EST. Players can catch every drawing live, right on their smartphones with the free LotteryHUB mobile app.
