Powerball reaches a record jackpot

After six weeks without a winner, Powerball reaches a record jackpot of $350 million, making it the third highest Powerball jackpot in history.

The highest recorded Powerball jackpot was in November 2012, when the jackpot reached $587 million. The most recent record jackpot was won in March 2013, with an estimated value of $338 million. The current estimated jackpot of $350 million is the third highest record jackpot for Powerball, and the seventh highest American lottery jackpot.

Saturday’s drawing, while it didn’t bring in any jackpot winners, did bring 16 different $1 million winners who were able to Match 5. The winners are from Arizona, California, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, New York and Pennsylvania, with some states with multiple $1 million winners.

The next Powerball drawing is Wednesday May 15 at 11:00pm EST. The record jackpot is set at $350 million and lottery experts expect a high volume of players looking to claim the record prize.
