Powerball is Nearing $100 Million

August 20, 2015 – The Powerball jackpot rolled over again Wednesday night, drawing nearer to the $100 million mark. Powerball’s jackpot sits at an estimated $90 million, and carries with it a cash value worth $57.7 million.

Wednesday’s winning numbers were 6, 8, 43, 48, 50 and the Powerball was 7.  The Power Play multiplier was 2x, so players who opted into Power Play will receive double the normal value of their prize.

Power Play automatically multiplies second prizes to $2 million, and there were two lucky second prize winners on Wednesday. One of the second prize winners bought a Power Play ticket which multiplied their prize from $1 million to $2 million!

Another 15 winners missed the jackpot by just one number after matching four white numbers and the Powerball to win third prizes. Of those winners, six added Power Play to their tickets, which will multiply their prizes to $20,000.  The other 14 winners will each receive the normal $10,000 third prize.

Along with those top tier winners, there were over 420,000 other players lucky enough to win prizes Wednesday! The total prize money won in last night’s drawing was over 5.5 million! Almost $3 million of the total prize money was won with Power Play.

There’s always a lot to be won with Powerball, but you’ve got to play to win. Remember, the next drawing is for $90 million! Be sure to pick up your tickets before it’s too late Saturday, and good luck!
