Nov. 9, 2015 — Happy Monday lottery players! Both the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots rolled over last weekend, kicking off a new “run” for Powerball and making the Mega Millions jackpot even more attractive.
The Powerball jackpot reset last Wednesday after a player in Tennessee matched all six numbers, so Saturday night’s rollover took to $40 million starting prize to $50 million ahead of this Wednesday’s draw.
Mega Millions’ top prize continued growing after Friday’s drawing failed to produce a winner. Ahead of tomorrow’s draw, the jackpot has an estimated annuity value of $180 million, and carries with it a $108 million cash option.
While there were no jackpot winners, lots of players were lucky enough to take home non-jackpot prizes this weekend.
More than 475,000 Powerball players took home prizes, together winning a total of almost $4.2 million in non-jackpot prize money. One of those winners, who bought their ticket in New Jersey, was lucky enough to match all five white numbers, winning $1 million.
Friday’s Mega Millions drawing also made one new millionaire; a ticket purchased in South Carolina matched the five white numbers to win the $1 million second prize. Along with that winner there were almost 2 million more players who were able to match a winning combination of numbers.
Congratulations to all of this weekend’s winners. Powerball and Mega Millions continue this week, starting tomorrow (Nov. 10, 2015) with Mega Millions. Remember – you can’t win if you don’t play!
