Powerball Jackpot Won in New York

Nov. 18, 2013 – Saturday’s Powerball drawing made one lucky New Yorker’s weekend.  One ticket sold in Brooklyn is now worth an incredible $130.3 million after matching all six numbers drawn Saturday.

Those six numbers were 10, 29, 37, 44, 59 and the red Powerball was 10.  While the lucky New York ticket was the only to match all six numbers, more than 630,000 other Powerball players matched a winning combination of numbers Saturday.

Five of those winners became millionaires Saturday after matching all five white balls for Powerball’s $1 million second prize.  Those tickets were sold in Florida, Iowa, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

In total, 634,218 winners claimed $9,130,452 in non-jackpot prizes Saturday night.

For the one lucky New York winner, the jackpot prize could be the $130.3 million annuity, or the winner could choose the cash value, about $75 million up front, before taxes.

Saturday’s jackpot winner has a full year to claim their prize.  For the rest of us, daydreaming about hitting the jackpot begins again.

The Powerball jackpot has returned to its $40 million starting point, carrying a cash value of $22.5 million, ahead of Wednesday’s drawing.

Be sure to pick up your tickets before sales close for Wednesday’s draw, and don’t forget that you can catch every Powerball drawing live on your smartphone with the LotteryHUB mobile app.
