Powerball Jackpot Won in California

Jul 20, 14 Powerball Jackpot Won in California

July 20, 2014 – A single ticket sold in San Bernardino County, Calif. matched all six winning numbers in Saturday’s Powerball drawing to win an estimated $60 million jackpot.

The winning numbers drawn Saturday night were 10, 17, 25, 45, 53 and the Powerball was 9.  The Power Play multiplier was 2x, so players who won with Power Play will receive doubled prizes.

Saturday’s jackpot winner bought their ticket at the Cardena’s market located at 8963 Sierra Ave., in Fontana, Calif.  The winner will have their choice of an estimated $60 million annuity, or the jackpot’s estimated $35.9 million cash value.

No other players were able to match five white numbers Saturday night, so the jackpot winner was the only millionaire made in the drawing.

The top non-jackpot winners were the 23 players who matched four white numbers and the Powerball to win third prizes.  Two of those winners had the Power Play option added to their tickets, so their prizes will multiply to $20,000.

More than 430,000 other Powerball players won a prize Saturday night, and non-jackpot winners raked in more than $2.7 million altogether.

Saturday’s jackpot win reset Powerball’s top prize to its $40 million starting point, which carries a cash value worth about $24.1 million.

Wednesday’s winning numbers will be drawn at about 11 p.m. EDT, but Powerball ticket sales close at different times ahead of the drawing, so be sure to get yours before it’s too late.  For a state-by-state list of sales closing times, click here.
