August 2, 2013 – Excitement over the Powerball jackpot has boosted ticket sales since Wednesday, adding $10 million to the prize ahead of Saturday’s drawing.
After the drawing Wednesday night produced no jackpot winners, the jackpot rolled over from $235 million to $290 million, which means in the past week alone the pot has grown by $65 million.
The cash value for the jackpot jumped $4.3 million on its own, climbing from $168.4 million to $172.7 million.
While the deadline for ticket sales varies from state-to-state, most offer Powerball tickets up to an hour before the drawing.
Check your state’s lottery website for information regarding the deadline, and be sure to buy your tickets for a chance at the $300 million.
