March 6, 2014 – Nobody won the Powerball jackpot Wednesday night, so the prize rolled over from its $40 million starting point to an estimated $50 million ahead of Saturday night’s drawing.
The winning numbers Wednesday were 3, 7, 9, 26, 54 and the red Powerball was 19. The Power Play multiplier drawn Wednesday was 2x, so players who won third or lower prizes with Power Play added to their tickets will receive twice the normal prize value.
One lucky player became a millionaire last night after their ticket matched all five white numbers drawn. That $1 million, second-prize winning ticket was sold in Virginia.
Dozens of other players matched a five-number combination – four white numbers and the Powerball – to win third prizes last night. 33 winners will receive Powerball’s $10,000 third prize.
Another 11 players also scored third prizes Wednesday, and because their tickets had the Power Play multiplier added to them, they’ll be worth $20,000.
Overall there were about 425,000 winners made in Wednesday’s Powerball drawing. Together, those players won more than $4.1 million in non-jackpot prize money.
Saturday’s drawing will be held at 11 p.m. EST, and the estimated $50 million jackpot carries a cash value of about $28.7 million.
Players looking to keep all that jackpot money themselves should buy their Powerball tickets now; smaller jackpots are more often won by a single ticket than larger jackpots that attract more interest.
If you save your numbers into the app, LotteryHUB will check your numbers after the drawing and send you an email if it looks like you’re a winner. Never miss a winning ticket again.
