Powerball Jackpot Rolls Over Wednesday Night

Sept. 26, 2013 – Nobody was able to match all six numbers drawn in the September 25th Powerball drawing, which means that jackpot rolled over again.  The estimated annuity prize grew by $10 million Wednesday night, and sits at $60 million ahead of Saturday night’s drawing.

While nobody was able to match all six numbers – 2, 7, 17, 49, 53, and the red Powerball 23 – there was one lucky Powerball player who was able to match the first five numbers drawn.

That winning ticket, which is worth $1 million, was bought in Whitney, Texas at a Lamp Post gas station.

Twenty-five Powerball players were able to win third-tier prizes last night by matching four of the white balls drawn along with the red Powerball.

Four of those winners chose to add the Powerplay option to their tickets for an extra $1, which means their third-tier prizes, normally worth $10,000, will be multiplied to $40,000.

Overall, the September 25th Powerball drawing made nearly half a million people winners, collectively raking in more than $4.47 million in prize money.
