Sept. 22, 2013 – Nobody was able to match all six numbers drawn in Saturday night’s Powerball drawing, the first drawing since a $399.4 million jackpot was won Wednesday night by one lucky ticket holder in South Carolina.
Saturday’s $40 million drawing did make five Powerball players millionaires, after they matched the five white balls drawn, but missed the red Powerball.
The numbers drawn Saturday night were 12, 17, 45, 54, 58, and the Powerball was 13.
The five million-dollar Match 5 winners are from Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, North Dakota, and New Jersey. Along with those five new millionaires, 24 people matched four of the white balls drawn and the red Powerball, scoring third-tier prizes.
21 third-tier winners can claim the regular $10,000 third-tier prize, while 3 lucky players chose to add the PowerPlay option to their Powerball tickets for an extra $1, and their winnings have quadrupled to $40,000.
In all, 562,173 Powerball players won a prize on Saturday night’s drawing, collectively winning more than $8.7 million.
Ahead of Wednesday night’s drawing, the jackpot sits at an estimated $50 million, with a cash value of $28.2 million.
