Nov. 7, 2013 – The Powerball jackpot rolled over Wednesday night and now sits at $87 million ahead of Saturday’s drawing. This is the fourth rollover since a California man won a $213 million jackpot Oct. 23, the first jackpot ever claimed by a Califonia player.
The numbers drawn Wednesday were 1, 5, 10, 15, 49 and the red Powerball 22. More than 470,000 players won one of the game’s nine prizes, collectively raking in more than $9.6 million in prize money.
Four players managed to match all five white balls drawn Wednesday. Two players, one each from Indiana and South Carolina, will receive $1 million second prizes.
The other two second-prize winners, however, will be multi-millionaires when they collect their $2 million Powerball prizes. Those winners, from Florida and New Hampshire, both added the PowerPlay option to their tickets for an extra $1, automatically doubling the value of their second-tier prize.
Eight third-prize winners also chose to add PowerPlay to their tickets, and will receive $40,000 prizes rather than the normal $10,000 third prize. 22 other players matched four white balls and the Powerball to win third prizes, but did not add PowerPlay to their tickets.
Saturday night’s drawing will be held at 11 p.m. ET, and the estimated $87 million jackpot carries a cash value of $50.3 million.
Don’t forget to pick up your Powerball tickets before sales close in your state, and good luck Saturday night.
