Nov. 28, 2013 – Happy Thanksgiving, Powerball players. Unfortunately, nobody can say they’re thankful for a jackpot-winning Powerball ticket today, as the $60 million top prize rolled over again Wednesday night, and now sits at $70 million ahead of Saturday’s drawing.
The winning numbers from Wednesday night’s drawing were 18, 25, 50, 55, 57 and the red Powerball was 17.
While nobody won the jackpot Wednesday night, there is one lucky second-prize winner out there who is definitely thankful they spent an extra dollar on Powerball’s PowerPlay option.
One ticket sold in Colorado matched all five white balls drawn Wednesday night, and because that player added the PowerPlay option to their ticket, their second prize is worth $2 million.
Fourteen players matched four of the white balls and the red Powerball Wednesday night. None of those winners added PowerPlay to their tickets, so they’ll all collect $10,000 when they claim their tickets.
Overall, 452,615 winning tickets were sold for Wednesday night’s drawing. Those nearly half-million winners can certainly be thankful for Powerball this Thanksgiving, they collectively raked in more than $4.8 million in prize money.
