Nov. 4, 2013 – No tickets sold ahead of Saturday night’s Powerball drawing were able to match all six numbers, so the game’s top prize rolled over again, growing to $70 million ahead of the mid-week drawing Wednesday.
The numbers drawn Saturday were 13, 23, 24, 27, 40 and the red Powerball was 17.
Two tickets were sold that matched all five white balls Saturday. Those tickets, now worth $1 million, were sold in Illinois and New Jersey. Neither player added the PowerPlay option to their ticket for an extra $1, which would have doubled their second-tier prizes.
Five players who matched four white balls and the Powerball also added PowerPlay to their tickets. The third prizes those players won will multiply to $40,000 thanks to their extra $1 bet.
Another 19 players won the third prize without the PowerPlay option, scoring themselves $10,000 prizes for matching five out of six numbers.
Overall, about a half a million winners collected a total of $5,727,570 in winnings Saturday night.
The $70 million jackpot that players will aim for Tuesday has a cash value of $40.4 million – not a prize worth missing.
