Nov. 14, 2013 – No Powerball tickets matched all six numbers drawn Wednesday night, so the jackpot grew to an estimated $130 million ahead of Saturday’s drawing. The $130 million jackpot carries a $73.5 million cash option.
Wednesday night’s numbers were 5, 31, 50, 55, 56 and the red Powerball was 9. More than 540,000 Powerball players matched a winning combination of those numbers to win one of the game’s nine prizes.
The two biggest winners Wednesday come from Florida and Louisiana. Both of those winning tickets are now worth $1 million after matching all five white balls, but missing the red Powerball.
Had either of those players added the PowerPlay option to their tickets for an extra $1, they would have won $2 million second prizes.
Two third-prize winners chose to add PowerPlay to their tickets, multiplying their $10,000 prizes to $40,000. 19 other players matched four white balls and the red Powerball for third prizes without PowerPlay, for a total of 21 third prize winners.
Overall, more than $5.5 million in prize money was won on Wednesday’s drawing. Saturday’s drawing for the estimated $130 million jackpot will be held at 11 p.m. ET.
