Powerball Jackpot Rolls Dec. 14

Dec. 16, 2013 – After two winners from Massachusetts and Nebraska split a $122.9 million jackpot last Wednesday, Powerball’s top prize reset to it’s $40 million starting point for Saturday’s drawing.

Nobody was able to match all six numbers in Saturday’s drawing for a $40 million jackpot, so the prize rolled over to $50 million ahead of Wednesday’s draw.  Saturday’s numbers were 14, 25, 32, 33, 41 and the red Powerball was 34.

Nearly 500,000 winners raked in a total of more than $6.2 million in prizes Saturday night.  Three of those lucky winners from Arizona, Tennessee and Virginia scored themselves $1 million second prizes for matching the first five numbers drawn.

None of those three second prize winners chose to add the PowerPlay option to their tickets.  Had they spent the extra $1 for PowerPlay, their second prizes would be worth $2 million.

Two of the 13 players who won third prizes did spend that extra $1 for PowerPlay, scoring themselves $40,000 prizes rather than the regular $10,000 third prize.

Wednesday’s estimated $50 million jackpot carries a cash value of $27.7 million.  Players can watch every Powerball drawing live right on their smartphones with the free LotteryHUB mobile app.
