April 3, 2014 – No Powerball tickets matched all six winning numbers drawn Wednesday night, so the jackpot prize rolled over for the third time since a Missouri couple won a $96.5 million jackpot March 22.
The winning numbers drawn Wednesday night were 8, 13, 19, 22, 53 and the red Powerball was 24. The Power Play multiplier drawn was 2x, so winning tickets with the Power Play option added are worth double their normal value.
One lucky Powerball player from Michigan became a millionaire overnight after matching all five white numbers drawn. That winner did not add the Power Play option to their tickets, which would have made their second prize worth $2 million.
Twenty-two other players matched five numbers – four of the white balls and the Powerball – to win third prizes Wednesday night. Five of those winners had the Power Play option added to their tickets, so they’ll receive $20,000 third prizes.
The remaining 17 third-prize winners will each receive the normal $10,000 third prize.
Altogether there were more than 410,000 winners Wednesday night, collectively winning more than $3.6 million in non-jackpot prizes. 72,000 Powerball tickets with Power Play earned nearly $1 million of the total winnings Wednesday night.
Saturday’s estimated $70 million annuity jackpot carries with it a cash value of about $40.7 million.
