Powerball Jackpot Rolls Over to $142 Million

Aug. 29, 2013 – Last night’s Powerball drawing did not produce any jackpot winners, so the big prize rolled over for a sixth time to sit at $142 million ahead of Saturday night’s drawing.

Overall, 765,992 lucky people won something on last night’s drawing, with a whopping 66 people matcing four white balls and the Powerball for a third-tier prize.  That’s almost twice as many third-prize winners as we’ve seen in any of the other drawings in the current jackpot run.

Four very lucky Powerball players managed to match all five white balls, but missed the red Powerball in last night’s drawing.  Two of those match 5 winners are from California, one is from Georgia, and the fourth lives in New Hampshire.

The numbers drawn Wednesday were 6, 7, 9, 19, 32, and the red Powerball was 13.

Because of the pari-mutuel system the California Lottery uses, the two second-prize winners there will get $868,297, rather than the normal $1 million that the two tickets in Georgia and New Hampshire are worth.

Saturday night’s drawing for $142 million will be held at 10:59 Eastern Time.  Don’t forget to pick up your tickets before sales cut off ahead of the drawing (check this post for a state-by-state list), and download the LotteryHUB app to watch the drawing live on your smartphone.
