Powerball Jackpot Rolls to $128 Million

April 17, 2014 – No tickets matched the six winning numbers in Wednesday’s Powerball drawing, so the jackpot prize grew from $110 million to an estimated $128 million ahead of Saturday’s drawing.

Wednesday’s winning numbers were 34, 39, 42, 44, 59 and the red Powerball was 8.  The Power Play multiplier drawn Wednesday was 3x, so players who had added the Power Play option to their tickets and won third or lower prizes will receive three times the normal prize amount.

Though nobody won the big jackpot, two tickets did win big second prizes.  One ticket sold in Georgia and another in Massachusetts matched all five white numbers but missed the Powerball; each of those tickets is now worth $1 million.

And 20 other players won big prizes after matching four white numbers and the Powerball.  Five of these third-prize winners added the Power Play option to their tickets to win $30,000 prizes, while the other 15 will receive normal $10,000 third prizes.

There were more than 530,000 winners in all Wednesday night, collectively raking in almost $5.6 million in non-jackpot prizes, including about $1.3  million won with Power Play.

Saturday’s estimated $128 million jackpot carries with it a cash value worth about $75 million.  The winning numbers will be drawn at 11 p.m. EDT, and as always players can watch live, right from their smartphone, with the free LotteryHUB app for iOS and Android.
