Feb. 6, 2014 – Nobody won the estimated $219 million Powerball jackpot Wednesday night so the prize, which has already begun to create a stir, grew to an estimated $247 million ahead of Saturday’s drawing.
Wednesday night’s winning Powerball numbers were 8, 17, 32, 57, 59 and the Powerball was 24.
The Power Play multiplier drawn Wednesday was 3x, so non-jackpot winning tickets with Power Play added will triple in value.
There were three new millionaires made in Wednesday night’s drawing. Two winning tickets, sold in Illinois and Minnesota, matched all five white numbers drawn, but missed the Powerball. Those two winners will each receive $1 million second prizes.
A third winner in South Carolina added the Power Play option to their second-prize winning ticket, making the South Carolina winner a multi-millionaire with a $2 million prize.
Another 35 players matched five numbers – four white numbers and the Powerball – Wednesday night. Three of those winners added Power Play to their tickets and will receive $30,000 prizes. The other 33 winners won Powerball’s normal $10,000 third prize.
Overall, there were more than 750,000 players matched a winning combination of numbers Wednesday night, raking in more than $9 million in prize money.
Saturday’s estimated $247 million jackpot carries a cash value of more than $142 million. Saturday’s Powerball drawing will be held at 11 p.m. EST. As always, players can watch the drawing live from their smarthpone with the LotteryHUB mobile app.
