Powerball Jackpot Grows to $80 Million

April 6, 2014 – No one won the Powerball jackpot Saturday night, so the $70 million prize grew to an estimated $80 million ahead of Wednesday night’s drawing.  Though nobody won the jackpot, more than 460,000 players won more than $10 million in non-jackpot prizes Saturday.

The winning numbers drawn were 11, 21, 26, 33, 34 and the red Powerball was 29.  The Power Play multiplier drawn Saturday was 5x, the highest-possible Power Play number.  Players who added the optional multiplier to their tickets and won third or lower prizes. will receive five times the normal prize value.

One New Mexico player is a new multi-millionaire after their ticket – which had the Power Play option added – matched the first five numbers drawn.  Second prizes with Power Play are automatically worth $2 million.

Four other winners, from Arkansas, New York, Oregon and Texas, also matched the first five numbers drawn to win Powerball’s normal $1 million second prize.

Seventeen other players, including four who added Power Play to their tickets, matched four white numbers and the Powerball to win third prizes.

The four winners with Power Play will each receive $50,000 third prizes while the other 13 won Powerball’s regular $10,000 third prize.

Saturday was just the second time since Power Play returned to a drawn multiplier that the highest-possible multiplier, 5x, was drawn.  The first drawing to pay out five-fold on Power Play prizes was Feb. 22.

Wednesday’s drawing will feature an estimated $80 million annuity prize, which has a cash value worth about $46 million.
