Jan. 26, 2014 – The Powerball jackpt escaped Saturday night’s drawing, rolling over ahead of Wednesday’s draw to an estimated $171 million, with a $97.6 million cash value.
The winning numbers in Saturday’s Powerball drawing were 8, 12, 18, 55, 57 and the red Powerball was 2. In its second appearance since returning to a drawn multiplier, the Power Play number drawn was 2x.
Although nobody matched all six winning numbers to nab the Powerball jackpot, three players did match the first five numbers to win the game’s second prize.
Two winners, one in Florida and the other in Texas, will each receive a $1 million second prize for matching all five white numbers. A third player from Arizona scored a $2 million second prize because they added Power Play to their ticket for just one extra dollar.
Three third-prize winners also spent an extra dollar on Power Play, so their prizes, normally worth $10,000, will be multiplied to $20,000 thanks to the drawn multiplier.
Another 21 winners also matched four white numbers and the Powerball to win the normal third prize, worth $10,000.
In total, Saturday night’s drawing made nearly 600,000 winners who collectively won more than $7.5 million in non-jackpot prizes.
Wednesday’s drawing will be held at about 11 p.m. Players can scan or save their tickets into the LotteryHUB mobile app, available for iOS and Android, and the app will check the ticket against the winning numbers after the drawing. If it looks like you’re a winner, we can even send you an email to let you know.
