May 29, 2013 – The Oklahoma Lottery Commission and international lottery provider Scientific Games Corporation announced Tuesday that they had signed a new contract, which will begin Aug. 9.
“The Oklahoma Lottery has been a valued customer since its launch in 2005, one of the fastest implementations ever in the industry, and we are pleased to continue our successful partnership,” said Pat McHugh, President of Scientific Gaming’s North American Lottery Systems.
The new contract has a one-year term, with provisions for nine one-year contract extensions.
According to a press release, Scientific Gaming will provide lottery systems and services and hopes “to contribute more returns to education in the state,” McHugh said.
Among the services provided are terminals and communication technology; instant ticket printing, warehousing, and distribution services; and sales and technical staff.
The Executive Director of the Oklahoma Lottery Commission, Rollo Redburn, looks forward to the extended partnership.
“Scientific Gaming has been a great partner over the last eight years. With their help, we can continue to focus on growing our revenues and driving efficiencies in order to provide more money for Oklahoma education,” he said.
Last year, the Oklahoma Lottery saw $208 million in sales and was able to return $73 million to Oklahoma education. You can learn more about who the money helps on the Oklahoma Lottery beneficiary page
