Oklahoma Lottery Apologizes for Adult Hotline Lottery Tickets

Aug. 15, 2013 – Oklahoma Lottery players trying to reach the Lottery by telephone recently may have gotten an adults-only surprise of a different nature.

Instead of the Oklahoma Lottery, the toll-free telephone number printed on some lottery tickets connects callers with “America’s Hottest Talk Line,” according to Oklahoma News9.

Oklahoma Lottery officials said they regret the mistake, and are working to remedy the situation as quickly as possible.

Lottery director Rollo Redburn speculated that the issue resulted from “an old roll of paper stock that didn’t get picked up” after the Lottery stopped using the toll-free telephone number.

According to the News9 report, the phone number was discontinued in 2010 to save the Lottery some money.

The Lottery heard Monday that the phone number with the unsavory new owner was still being printed on some lottery tickets, and was also still listed on the Lottery’s website. ¬†They said they are working hard to correct the mistake.
