Oct. 24, 2013 – The winning numbers drawn for Wednesday’s Powerball were 3, 23, 31, 34, 47 and the red Powerball was 13, and one California ticket matched all six numbers correctly.
That California jackpot winner now holds a Powerball ticket worth an estimated $213.4 million should they choose the annuity prize option. The cash option for the big jackpot is $123.3 million.
Eight other players became millionaires Wednesday night after matching the five white balls drawn. One new millionaire was made in four states: Delaware, Florida, Massachusetts and New Jersey, while New York and Texas each have two new millionaires.
None of those second-prize winners chose to add the PowerPlay option to their tickets. For an extra $1, PowerPlay would have turned their $1 million prizes into $2 million.
Overall, Wednesday’s Powerball drawing paid out more than $14.5 million in non-jackpot prizes to just fewer than one million winning tickets – 998,511 winners exactly.
Saturday’s draw will begin a new jackpot run with the $40 million starting jackpot.
