Feb. 24, 2014 – The Missouri Lottery on Sunday officially opened sales for its newest draw game, $250k Triple Play. As its name suggests, the new game features a top prize worth $250,000.
Like Powerball and Mega Millions, there are nine ways to win on $250k Triple Play. Each ticket costs $2, and each ticket features three individual games.
On the first game, players can choose their own numbers from 1-60, or get a Quick Pick for their chance at the $250,000 top prize.
The second and third games are automatically printed on the Triple Play ticket with the first game. Games two and three are always Quick Picks, and between them offer players eight more chances to win.
In the second game, players receive three lines of numbers and can win up to $10,000 for matching all four winning numbers on one line.
Game three prints out with five lines of numbers, and the top prize for matching the winning numbers on one line in Game Three is $5,000.
Players can also win $2 by matching any two numbers in any of the three games, and can win $30 for matching any three numbers in any game.
May Scheve Reardon, executive director of the Missouri Lottery, said the best part of Triple Platy is that it’s “Missouri-only.”
“There will be a lot of winners, [and] all the prizes will be won on tickets bought right here in Missouri,” Reardon said in a press release Friday. “Based on the design, we expect to average more than 100,000 winners each month… and more than one winner of a quarter of a million [dollars].”
The first Triple Play drawing will be held this Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 8:59 p.m. Players can purchase tickets right up to the drawing, and sales for the next drawing will open once the drawing is complete, around 9:15 p.m.
