Dec. 11, 2014 – The New Mexico Lottery is asking Powerball players in the state to check their Powerball tickets, a $1 million prize won in the summer is about to expire if the winner doesn’t come forward with the lucky ticket.
The winner matched all five white numbers drawn in the Sept. 27 Powerball drawing: 2, 11, 35, 52 and 54. The Powerball that night was 13.
The lucky winner has about two weeks to claim their $1 million prize, which expires on Christmas Eve, Dec. 21.
(Talk about a stocking stuffer!)
“If ever there was a time to clean out every nook and cranny in your home or car, this is it,” said David Bardem, New Mexico Lottery CEO. “Someone was very lucky on drawing night, but they need to make their own luck right now by finding the ticket and turning it in for this amazing prize.”
According to a New Mexico Lottery press release, the million-dollar ticket was sold at the Circle K located at 3622 State Highway 528 NW in Albuquerque.
The press release also specifies that the winner bought their ticket at 1:57 p.m. the day of the drawing.
Hopefully someone takes Bardem’s advice and finds their ticket before Christmas Eve. If it’s you, don’t forget to sign the back of your ticket immediately, then keep it in a safe – but memorable – place until you’re ready to pick up your million bucks.
