Oct. 17, 2013 – With big changes for the mutli-state Mega Millions game just days away, the Nebraska Lottery has announced it will offer special discounted tickets while players get accustomed to the new Mega Millions.
From the day before the first drawing with Mega Millions’ new format, Oct. 21, until Nov. 3, players can get two Mega Millions tickets with Megaplier for $3.
The $1 discount can be applied to quick picks or play slips that players fill out themselves. To get the discount, players must simply purchase two Mega Millions tickets with Megaplier – an option that normally costs an extra $1 per ticket.
The discount can be applied in two ways; players can choose to play two drawings with one set of numbers with the Megaplier option, or they can purchase two sets of numbers, both with Megaplier, for one drawing.
Either way, the odds of winning any prize on Mega Millions are getting much better. Starting with the drawing Tuesday, Oct. 22, the overall odds of winning on a Mega Millions ticket will be just 1 in 15.
Jackpots will start at $15 million and increase by at least $5 million with each rollover in the new game. Other changes to Mega Millions will make for faster-growing jackpots and more winners on each drawing.
Megaplier, the option that Nebraska players must choose if they want to receive discounted tickets, is getting bigger too. There will now be a 5x ball, and if drawn, Megaplier prizes will multiply five times their normal value.
