N.J. Launches Plants vs. Zombies Scratch-off

Sept. 9, 2013 – The New Jersey Lottery has turned the smash-hit smartphone game Plants vs. Zombies into a scratch-off ticket that could win you up to $25,000 instantly.

Plants vs. Zombies is a $2 scratch-off pitting three sunflowers against 10 zombies.  When you scratch off the play area, matching any of your “Sunflower” numbers to any of the “Zombie” numbers will win you that prize.

If you uncover a “Pumpkin” symbol, you’ll win double the prize shown, and uncovering a symbol that looks like two cherries will win you all 10 prizes automatically!

However, just like the video game version of Plants vs. Zombies, this scratch-off is “cross-platform”.  If you don’t win instantly when you scratch off your ticket, enter the code into the New Jersey Lottery’s Plants vs. Zombies Second Chance promotion.

You’ll need three non-winning scratch-offs to enter, but signing up for the VIP Second Chance promotion is free.  Just head to the VIP Club webpage to get started.

Once you’re signed up, head to the Plants vs. Zombies section of the VIP Club to enter your non-winning tickets into one of 10 second-chance drawings.

The first nine drawings will feature an Apple iPad Mini and a $50 Apple gift card as the top prize.

In the tenth and final drawing, the winner will receive a (full-size) iPad and a $250 Apple gift card as the grand prize, and a second-place winner will get an iPad Mini and $50 gift card.

And once you’ve entered into the second chance drawings, check out Wall-Nut Bowling, a Plants vs. Zombies mini-game you can play for free in the New Jersey Lottery’s VIP Club website.

(But be careful!  Just like Plants vs. Zombies, Wall-Nut bowling is too much fun to walk away from.)
