Sep 17, 14 Mo. Lottery Celebrates St. Louis Birthday with Winsday

Sept. 17, 2014 – The Missouri Lottery said “Happy Birthday” to the city of St. Louis this morning, celebrating the occasion with a “Winsday” free ticket giveaway for lucky commuters.

The Lottery partnered with St. Louis Metro and STL250, a volunteer organization helping to organize the 250th birthday bash, for the Winsday giveaways.

This morning, commuters on three bus lines were likely surprised to see a blue-and-yellow bus bearing the Missouri Lottery and STL250 logos pull up to their stop.

Passengers on the bus who were 18 or older received free play coupons from the Lottery.

Part of the morning’s fun was that nobody knew where the Winsday bus would show up – the Lottery kept its morning route a secret, but released some hints on their website for players who wanted to track it down.

According to a Lottery press release, this isn’t the first time the Winsday bus has made morning commutes more memorable.

“Riders had so much fun with this promotion last month that we decided to bring it back,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director of the Missouri Lottery.

Since it’s been such a success, the Missouri Lottery says they plan to continue surprising Missourians with Winsdays once a month until the end of the year.
