Minnesota Lottery’s Big Cash Crossword Nominated for Award

Sept. 26, 2013 – The Minnesota Lottery’s Big Cash Crossword, a giant-sized scratch-off game that ended in mid-July, has been nominated for a Best New Instant Game Award by the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL).

Pollard Banknote, the Minnesota Lottery’s vendor for instant tickets, announced Tuesday that the enormous scratch-off card, which measured nearly 7.8″ x 8″, had been nominated for the award along with 12 other finalists.

“Pollard Banknote is thrilled to see the well-deserving Minnesota Lottery recognized within the industry for their unique and innovative instant game concepts,” said Pollard Banknote co-CEO Doug Pollard.

The giant game, which was launched at the end of 2012 and sold for six months, featured six individual games on one ticket.  Players had the opportunity to win up to $300,000 on Big Cash Crossword, as well extra ways to win through what Pollard called ” interactive cross-promotional play experience[s].”

Just before the Big Cash Crossword game ended, the Minnesota Lottery released Big Money Bonus Crossword, another giant ticket that offers players the same six-puzzle format with a $300,000 top prize.

Big Money Bonus Crossword continues the success of Big Cash Crossword’s cross-play option by including a coupon code good for a free Progressive Print-N-Play ticket, an instant game with a progressive jackpot.

The awards for Best New Instant Game will be awarded during NASPL’s annual conference, Oct. 1-4 in Providence, R.I.
