Feb. 3, 2014 – Starting tomorrow, Michigan Lottery players will have the opportunity to buy the Lottery’s newest game, a $30 instant ticket called $2,000,000 Cash.
The new game is the first of the Michigan Lottery’s tickets to ever sport the $30 price tag. The extra $10 players will need to shell out for what is now the highest-priced game the Lottery offers is the cost of better odds and higher prizes than ever offered before.
There are three top prizes that players can win, and as the name of the game suggests, each top prize is worth $2 million.
The Michigan Lottery says the $30 instant game has more than $80 million in total prizes to give away, and the odds of winning any of the prizes available – from $30 to $2 million – are about 1 in 2.7.
There are 13 prizes available to players, starting from a break-even $30 prize. Along with the incredible $2 million top prize, there is also an impressive number of second prizes to be won.
Each second prize is worth $10,000, and there are 120 of those prizes to be won. That’s the benefit of higher-priced games, and the Michigan Lottery is among several state lotteries, like Georgia and Ohio, to roll out higher-priced tickets with enormous prizes in the past month.
Instant game Product Manager Glenn Strong said in a press release Monday that “this new $30 instant game was strongly endorsed by participants in our focus groups.”
“Players also have a 1 in 25 chance of winning $200 and we expect that to add to the excitement for players and boost their interest in the $2,000,000 Cash game,” Strong said.
