Jan. 15, 2014 – No tickets sold ahead of Tuesday night’s Mega Millions drawing matched all six winning numbers, so the jackpot rolled over again, reaching an estimated $41 million ahead of Friday’s draw.
The winning numbers drawn Tuesday night were 4, 23, 26, 62, 69 and the Mega Ball was 13. Tuesday’s Megaplier was 3x, which means winners who added Megaplier to their tickets for an extra $1 will receive three times the winnings for their prize.
While nobody hit the jackpot Tuesday night, there were two players who came close enough to score a second prize. Those two tickets, which matched all five white numbers drawn, were sold in Massachusetts and North Carolina. Both winners will receive Mega Millions’ $1 million second prize; neither chose to add Megaplier to their ticket.
Eighteen players matched four of the white numbers and the Mega Ball to win a third prize, and two of those third-prize winners added Megaplier to their tickets to net them $15,000. The other 16 third prize winners will receive the normal $5,000 prize amount.
In all there were about 1.2 million winning Mega Millions tickets Tuesday, and those winners collectively raked in about $4.5 million.
Friday’s drawing will be held at 11 p.m. EST, and the $41 million annuity prize carries with it a $22 million cash option.
Don’t forget to pick up your tickets before sales close in your state. Remember: you can’t win if you don’t play.
