Feb. 12, 2014 – Nobody matched all six winning numbers in Tuesday night’s Mega Millions drawing, so the jackpot prize rolled over again, reaching an estimated $139 million ahead of Friday’s drawing.
The winning numbers drawn Tuesday night were 43, 64, 67, 71, 73 and the Mega Ball was 4. The Megaplier drawn Tuesday was 2x, so winners who had added Megaplier to their tickets will receive twice their normal prize value.
No new millionaires were made Tuesday, as no tickets matched all five white numbers drawn. 27 players did match five numbers – four white numbers and the Mega Ball – to win Mega Millions’ third prize.
Two of those third-prize winners threw down an extra buck for Megaplier when they purchased their tickets, so those two winners will receive $10,000 second prizes.
The other 25 third-prize winners will receive Mega Millions’ normal $5,000 third prize.
Though there were no new millionaires, Mega Millions players won nearly $3 million in non-jackpot prize money Tuesday night.
There were more than 1.6 million winning tickets sold ahead of Tuesday’s drawing, including 160,000 with the Megaplier option added. Players with winning Megaplier tickets took home more than $520,000 in prizes Tuesday.
Friday night’s Mega Millions drawing will be held at 11 p.m. EST, and the estimated $139 million jackpot carries with it a cash value of about $76 million.
